I'm new to rifles but not pistols. Is it normal for the rear sight on a 22 rifle to appear somewhat fuzzy? I can see the front sight fine but not the rear one. I'm used to pistols where seeing both is not an issue. I'm considering just removing the rear sight because I find the fuzziness that distracting. What do you think? Thanks

The human eye can't focus on three things at the same time. You can't have the target, front and rear site all in perfect focus at the same time. Then as we get older this becomes more of a problem. Removing the rear sight would not help if you want to hit anything you shoot at. There are much better ways to handle this. An aperture or 'peep' rear helps, or a scope or Red Dot sight also make a world of difference, especially for those of us who are getting older.

The rear sight and target should in fact be a bit fuzzy if you are properly focusing on the front sight as it appears you are.
